David Thomlinson

David Thomlinson is an Independent Director of a JV company with the Al Failiah Group in Saudi Arabia and an Advisor to Arup Consulting Engineers. He is an Advisor and a member of the Business Leaders council for TeachFirst and the Global Advisory Coucil for Teach For All. He is a member of the European Advisory Board for the Professional Boards Forum

He retired in 2014 after a 28 year career with the Global Management Consulting and Technology firm, Accenture. He was a member of Accenture’s Global Executive Committee for 11 years where his responsibilities included Group Chief Executive for the Global Resources Operating Group ( Energy, Utilities, Chemicals and Natural Resources), Country Managing Director for UK and Ireland and the Chief Geographic Officer. In his last role he was responsible for overall geographic strategy and operations across 54 countries and was based in Shanghai, China.

He served on the former prime Minister Gordon Brown’s Council on Social Action, was a Board member of eSkills and a member of the Seoul International Business Advisory Committee.

Prior to Accenture, he spent nine years with Arup and led the design of a number of major building projects.

He is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering ( FREng) and a Chartered Engineer - being a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers ( MICE ) and Structural Engineers ( MIStructE ).
